MELBOURNE, Florida -? The National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued a forecast of partly sunny skies with scattered showers and afternoon thunderstorms for East Central Florida, including Brevard County.? Thunderstorms later in the day could produce cloud-to-ground lightning and gusty winds up to 50 mph.

This Morning: At 7 A.M., doppler radar showed a band of showers and a few storms with very heavy downpours and brief wind gusts to around 30 mph has developed from the Green Swamp area of southern Lake County across the attractions area to south Orlando and the International Airport.?
This activity will move rapidly east-southeast at 35 mph across the Kissimmee Saint Cloud area across southern Orange and northern Osceola Counties, and toward central and southern Brevard Counties.
