An independent, co-educational, college prep school for ....more info View all our jobs Staten Island Academy is seeking a Business Manager to oversee accounting, finance, business operations, facilities and related staff. The Business Manager reports to the Head of School. This position requires strong analytical skills, ability to multi-task, strong spreadsheet ability, an understanding of fund accounting, experience in coordinating the year end audit, complex reconciliations, budget management, cash management, and preparation of financial statements and forecasts. Experience in fund accounting is highly desirable. In addition, experience in capital projects and facilities operations and management is required, including contract negotiation and administration. Bachelor degree in Accounting required; CPA or MBA in Finance/Accounting preferred. Minimum of ten years experience required in similar position, preferably in an independent school or other not-for-profit organization. The person in this position must have the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, and parents. Must be able to work in collaboration with the management team, the head of school, and various committees of the Board of Trustees. Willingness to work long hours as needed is essential.
